When a website has a large amount of pages and/or a complex structure, a site index, or site map, summarizes all the links to major pages within the website. Most site maps are not images, but a list of alphabetical text links that can be categorized by topic to meet WAI standards for appropriately conveying information using text. Site maps combined with search features and multiple navigation structures are helpful to visitors at a large site. Site maps help your business attain a higher Google Search Ranking because Google uses site maps to index pages within a website making it easier for you to be found in Google Search.
